Invario Network Engineers is a virtual company. What this means is that we no longer lease commercial office space. With the downturn of the technical economy in 2001, Invario made a strategic decision to vacate our offices at 2420 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington, Virginia. This cost-saving decision prevented us from having to lay off any of our engineers, and it increased their benefits.

Invario headquarters is the home of our president, Dave Wilson. Gladys Pope is at that office every day to administer the running of the company and to provide a live person to answer the telephone. To stay in accordance with Arlington zoning, no other employee reports to this office.

The Invario corporate network is located at a hosting facility in Ashburn, Virginia. Using VPN and terminal services technologies all the employees, including the home office, do their computing remotely. Engineers are given an allowance for broadband in their homes. With this configuration the Engineers can do Invario work and support client systems from the comfort of their own homes. Engineers often travel to client sites to provide on-site support. Engineers can also use the Invario network from client sites to refer to or update client and corporate data.

All Invario engineers are given cell phones that their clients and fellow engineers can call directly. E-mail is handled by our own mail server, which can be reached in a variety of ways. Invario also has a server monitoring system that will alert the engineer via cell phone text message if a client machine is having a problem.
